Cheap Party Buses In Chicago

11/29/2012

Picture
OH MY GOD! This Party Bus only costs $75/hr! Sold! I don't know what could possibly go wrong...

There is a tool for every occasion, and sometimes the cheapest option might be the right choice... but everyone should know the pitfalls of doing business with the bottom feeders of the high end transportation industry, especially if the event has any significant meaning to the event organizer.

Yes, when looking for a limo, trolley or party bus there will always be someone cheaper. The question is: what are you willing to risk when booking with them? It's a phrase we have all heard: "You get what you pay for" and when you are talking luxury transportation it couldn't be more true.

If you are looking to book a wedding, corporate event, holiday party, transportation to a concert or that big bachelorette bash the last thing you want is for the transportation company you hired to not hold up their end of the bargain. When you book with the wrong company that's cutting corners and doing anything to get the sale you're risking: the wrong vehicle showing up, the vehicle not showing up on time or worse yet, the vehicle not showing up at all... yes, this happens all the time.

When you book with a too good to be true cheap company it is probably just that. Here are some of these companies common attributes and problems you'll run into:

- A company that's not paying taxes
- Vehicles that are not properly insured
- A company that has been poorly reviewed by customers
- Scam artists that will not give you what they promised
- The vehicle in the pictures not showing up at your door
- Drivers not showing up on time, or not showing up at all
- Older vehicles with less features
- "Companies" that don't even own the vehicles they are renting you

More importantly, here are some ways to ensure you avoid these companies and get the best service and piece of mind for your event:

- Pay attention to the person you are talking to on the phone. Do they seem reputable? Trustworthy? Do they know what they're talking about? Are they taking the time to answer all of your questions? If you like the person you're speaking to that's a great first step!

- Read reviews, Yelp is probably the best site to do this. Google reviews are for the most part fake. How many companies have you reviewed on Google? Zero? Exactly. When you are looking at the reviews on Yelp definitely look at the filtered reviews too. You will see filtered reviews on the lower left of a company's reviews. It will look like: "(17 Filtered)." Take a look in there, you will be surprised what you find. If the company is not reviewed at all what does that say about them? They probably don't want to be reviewed... or they have been reviewed and didn't like the results

- Make sure you are not dealing with a farm out company. There are plenty of companies out there that will sell you a vehicle that they don't even own. They will quote you, take a cut and then give the remainder to a random company that will show up at your door. Do you really think you will be getting the vehicle in the stock pictures they found on the interwebs? Probably not. There is no better way to risk your event than booking with a farm out company, they do not want repeat business and are only acting as a middle man. Ask the person on the phone if you can come out in person to see the vehicle, tell them you have a completely open schedule. If they skirt around the question, they don't have it. Move on in your search.

When it comes down to it, a group of 30 people paying an extra $5 - $10 per head is not a lot when it gives you piece of mind and ensures you have the best chance of having a great event. No reason to risk the embarrassment and repercussions that come along with accidentally booking with a shady company.

If you ever have a question about a company I will give you a non-biased opinion and will be more than willing to help you out and be a resource. (312) 546-4494

Chicago Limo Bus vs. Chicago Trolley

6/14/2012

The great debate: Limo Bus or Trolley?

It's beautiful out in Chicago, summer is in full force and it's time to hit the town and have some fun! When you have a large group event your options really come down to a limo bus or trolley. So let's break down the pros and cons of the two options and the experiences that entail.

The first element is the weather. If it's a beautiful day outside a trolley can be a lot of fun, enjoying the fresh air, hearing all the sounds of the city and getting a good glimpse of the hustle and bustle of the neighborhood you're cruising around in... BUT if the weather takes a turn for the worse you're in for a very uncomfortable ride. On those muggy 95 degree days you'll be sweating like a marathon runner, when it's really cold out you better bring a jacket and if it's raining, there goes your open air experience. On a limo bus, no need to worry about the elements putting a damper on your day the group will be comfortable whether it's cold, hot, rain or snow.

The next point to consider is what type of atmosphere you would like. A trolley has forward facing seating, so you are pretty limited in who you can talk to and half the time you will be awkwardly turning around in your seat to have a conversation. The hallway is tight and maneuvering around can be a bit of a pain. In a limo bus you have wrap around leather seating, you can talk to anyone around you comfortably and walk around the vehicle freely to mingle with anyone inside. Whereas a trolley is pretty bare bone on the inside a limo bus has the works: fiber optics, lasers, light shows, HD TV's, great sound systems with adapters for all of your music and is more of a party atmosphere. There is room to dance and really use the space around you as you see fit. While people are tripping over coolers in a trolley the limo bus has built in coolers to conveniently store all of your ice and drinks.

Lastly, you have to choose what type of service you would like. A trolley you'll get a driver and all of the set up is up to you. You need to bring the drinks, the coolers, the ice, music, decorations and any of your other needs. Limo buses your chauffeur will be dressed up for your event, help you on an off the vehicle, have ice ready and waiting for you with whatever beverages you request. When you step off the chauffeur will organize the back and help clean up the back so it's organized when you step back on.

Hope this helps when you're looking for a great day out in the best city in the world!

Chicago Party Bus Concert Transportation

5/8/2012

Everyone should step onto a party bus as least once in their life. They are a fun, memorable and a safe way to provide transportation to and from virtually any event. The summer days are approaching along with a variety of great concerts! For a large group, a limo bus is by far the best option to transport your group from to and from your concert in style!

The majority of concert venues in the Chicago land area are difficult to get to and have a plethora of headaches you'll go through before the concert even starts: figuring out how to get too and from an event, being a slave of train schedules, picking a designated driver, taxis, finding friends once you get there, parking  and the list goes on...

Why not book a limo bus with Limotainment and have them handle all of the logistics for you? Your whole group will get rock star treatment too and from the show! No need to struggle to find your friends in the crowds, you are already together partying all the way too and from the venue in a vehicle complete with wrap around leather seating, a booming sound system and entrancing light shows. You won't need to try to hail a taxi among thousands of people, worry about train schedules or parking and most importantly no one needs to worry about getting a DUI!

Whether you are headed to the First Midwest Bank Amphitheater for the Drake concert or the Allstate Arena to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers, give Limotainment a call at (312) 546-4494. Ask about our Chicago concert transportation packages that eliminate all the hassles of getting too and from the venue and ensure your only job having fun.

Hey Everyone!

I know this blog is mainly for speaking about Limotainment LLC and educating individuals on the high end transportation industry... but I wanted to take a second and promote a great event supporting a great cause that is near and dear to me.

If you are free on Thursday May 10th, Special Children's Charities will be hosting an amazing event! The deal is fantastic and it should be a really memorable event; not to mention, the ticket price all goes to charity. Honestly, if I heard about this and it was for profit I would go to it anyways just because what they are offering. This would be great to go to just for the fun of it, as networking event or even a date.

Here is a quick Breakdown of the event:

Where:          1420 S. Michigan Ave.
When:            May 10th @ 6:00 - 9:00 PM
How Much:  $50 ticket price ($65 @ the door) - All to the charity

Explanation of the Event:

250-300 persons event, the place is a cool venue and will be all set up specifically for Sip & Savor. There will be a DJ, NBC's new weather girl hosting the event , entertainment along with the unlimited food and beverages.

THE BEVERAGES:

- Brewery's: Goose Island & Three Floyde's will be sponsoring the event and donating beer.
- I believe there is also a vodka company that will be coming and making some sort of mixed drinks.
- Of course there will be non alcoholic options also.

THE FOOD:

Dishes from 5 Top Chefs in Chicago will be paired with  beers.

Kendal Duque - The Chicago Firehouse (Also worked for SEPIA and NOMI)
Chris Pandel - Balena (2011 Rising Star, Also worked at Tru & Bristol)
Ryan Poli - Tavernita (Rated one of the top 3 new restaurants in Chicago)
Mike Sheerin - Trenchermen (Head chef at Blackbird before opening Trencherman w/ his brother) Pat Sheerin - Trenchermen (Head chef at Signature Room before opening Trencherman w/ his brother)

This will be a great opportunity to try some food from a lot of very nice restaurants in Chicago. I'll be going for sure and it would be great if you could come too! Spread the word!

How To Book High End Transportation (Phone Tips)

4/14/2012

Whether you're looking for transportation for a wedding, corporate event, school dance or a family reunion you want to make sure the vehicle rolling up to your door is impressive. The last thing you want is a clunker of a party bus showing up to your birthday or a limousine from the 80's picking up a potential client you're trying to impress. You can gather a lot of data during a quick phone conversation!

- Who is answering the phone?

The Operator:

If it sounds like you are talking to an operator, you most likely are. Larger companies will have people assigned to work the phones. This means the company most likely has a lot of vehicles and drivers on staff. They are not the company to go to if you want a completely customized experienced but if they have great reviews on a site like Yelp they did something right to grow to the size they are and are probably a legit company to work with. If they have average or poor reviews: they most likely also have cheap prices and you'll be rolling the dice if they show up on time or  at all. With any of these company's it's rare you will get the exact vehicle you see in the pictures.

The Farm Out Company:

This is the company to watch out for! A farm out company typically has a website that provides every type of transportation:  a wide variety of stretch hummers, coach buses, stretch SUVs, party buses, stretch limos, etc. You say: "Wow! These guys have everything!" In reality these companies use stock photos from Google on their website and probably only have one or two vehicles IF ANY! They will take your booking, take a few hundred dollars off the top and sell your event to a random company. You most likely will not get the vehicle in the picture, you definitely will not get the same company you spoke to on the phone and for all you know  they gave the job to  1 star service . Ask if they actually own the vehicle and if you can see it beforehand if you are suspicious.  Say "I can come see the vehicle any time, I have a very flexible schedule," if they give a bunch of excuses, they don't own it.

The Small - Medium Sized Operator:

There is a wide variety of companies in this category, Limotainment is in it! You will typically be talking to the same person on the phone every time, these company's generally have 1-5 vehicles. Some of the services are fantastic, others are an absolute nightmare and the majority fall in the grey area between. Everyone has the ability to get a feeling for the type of person they are talking to after about a minute. If the person sounds shady, confused, unreliable your gut is probably right because you are talking to one of the owners of that company. How the owner sounds is how the company conducts business. When they are on the phone, whether they are a great company or not, they should have the best attitude possible right? They are trying to get you to commit and trust them laying out hundreds if not thousands of dollars! If they don't sound reliable on the phone its probably for the best to avoid that company no matter what their rates are. If the person you are talking to sounds knowledgeable, trustworthy and willing to take your event to the next level you may have found the right company!

Regardless of who you're talking to, always check out the reviews of the company before you commit to them! The last thing you want is for an embarrassing piece of junk with a rude driver showing up late to your door.

Hope this helps!

Tips For Booking a Party Bus For Prom

4/5/2012

It's that time of year! Prom Season! Time for all of the girls to get all dolled up and for the guys to sport their slick suits & tuxedos. A very fun and memorable night for all! Everyone is scrambling to find the perfect dress, where to get their pictures taken, and locking in the perfect party bus, limo or stretch hummer for their groups.  Well, I'm hear to help you out with prom transportation for your big day!

There are many companies that will look to take advantage of high school students trying to book transportation for the dance. Below are tips to make sure you have the upper hand when talking to limo companies and how to book the best vehicle with the best company for Prom!

A couple pointers:

- Call early! The further you call in advance the better chance you will get the date and vehicle you want. Everyone is scrambling to book their party bus in the final 30 days and limo company's will charge more once they see the demand increasing.

- It will be very difficult to find any company to book anything less than 3 hours, especially in prom season.

- A split is a common way of charging a prom or any dance: They will "split" your 3 or 4 hours of transportation between the ride to the prom and the ride after. Example:  For 3 hours you can use 1 hour before to drive to the prom and cruise around for 2 hours after prom, which equals your 3 hours.

- Take a look at the companies reviews on Yelp.com, if they do not have great reviews there is probably a reason for it. (Here is a LINK to Limotainment's, look for something like this)

- Be weary of any companies that say they have a ton of vehicles. A lot of the time they really have only 1 or 2 and the rest are stock photos you will find on a simple Google image search. These companies will book your business, take a cut of the cash and then place your event with a random company. You will not know the reputation of this company and the vehicle that rolls up to your door will not be the same one you saw in the pictures 90% of the time. A good way of testing this is to ask to see the vehicle in person. Say "My schedule is completely flexible the next few weeks; when can come and see the vehicle in person?" If they say you can't see it or come up with excuses... they don't own it!

- Also, when solidifying a booking with a company it may be best to put a parent on the line, not that you can't do it yourself but it will help ensure there is less of a chance of any shadiness from the company.

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have and good luck with your search! Hopefully  Limotainment be a part of your next school dance!

Feel free to e-mail me at  myonk@limo-tainment.com for any further advise.
