Hey Everyone!

I know this blog is mainly for speaking about Limotainment LLC and educating individuals on the high end transportation industry... but I wanted to take a second and promote a great event supporting a great cause that is near and dear to me.

If you are free on Thursday May 10th, Special Children's Charities will be hosting an amazing event! The deal is fantastic and it should be a really memorable event; not to mention, the ticket price all goes to charity. Honestly, if I heard about this and it was for profit I would go to it anyways just because what they are offering. This would be great to go to just for the fun of it, as networking event or even a date.

Here is a quick Breakdown of the event:

Where:          1420 S. Michigan Ave.
When:            May 10th @ 6:00 - 9:00 PM
How Much:  $50 ticket price ($65 @ the door) - All to the charity

Explanation of the Event:

250-300 persons event, the place is a cool venue and will be all set up specifically for Sip & Savor. There will be a DJ, NBC's new weather girl hosting the event , entertainment along with the unlimited food and beverages.

THE BEVERAGES:

- Brewery's: Goose Island & Three Floyde's will be sponsoring the event and donating beer.
- I believe there is also a vodka company that will be coming and making some sort of mixed drinks.
- Of course there will be non alcoholic options also.

THE FOOD:

Dishes from 5 Top Chefs in Chicago will be paired with  beers.

Kendal Duque - The Chicago Firehouse (Also worked for SEPIA and NOMI)
Chris Pandel - Balena (2011 Rising Star, Also worked at Tru & Bristol)
Ryan Poli - Tavernita (Rated one of the top 3 new restaurants in Chicago)
Mike Sheerin - Trenchermen (Head chef at Blackbird before opening Trencherman w/ his brother) Pat Sheerin - Trenchermen (Head chef at Signature Room before opening Trencherman w/ his brother)

This will be a great opportunity to try some food from a lot of very nice restaurants in Chicago. I'll be going for sure and it would be great if you could come too! Spread the word!

How To Book High End Transportation (Phone Tips)

4/14/2012

Whether you're looking for transportation for a wedding, corporate event, school dance or a family reunion you want to make sure the vehicle rolling up to your door is impressive. The last thing you want is a clunker of a party bus showing up to your birthday or a limousine from the 80's picking up a potential client you're trying to impress. You can gather a lot of data during a quick phone conversation!

- Who is answering the phone?

The Operator:

If it sounds like you are talking to an operator, you most likely are. Larger companies will have people assigned to work the phones. This means the company most likely has a lot of vehicles and drivers on staff. They are not the company to go to if you want a completely customized experienced but if they have great reviews on a site like Yelp they did something right to grow to the size they are and are probably a legit company to work with. If they have average or poor reviews: they most likely also have cheap prices and you'll be rolling the dice if they show up on time or  at all. With any of these company's it's rare you will get the exact vehicle you see in the pictures.

The Farm Out Company:

This is the company to watch out for! A farm out company typically has a website that provides every type of transportation:  a wide variety of stretch hummers, coach buses, stretch SUVs, party buses, stretch limos, etc. You say: "Wow! These guys have everything!" In reality these companies use stock photos from Google on their website and probably only have one or two vehicles IF ANY! They will take your booking, take a few hundred dollars off the top and sell your event to a random company. You most likely will not get the vehicle in the picture, you definitely will not get the same company you spoke to on the phone and for all you know  they gave the job to  1 star service . Ask if they actually own the vehicle and if you can see it beforehand if you are suspicious.  Say "I can come see the vehicle any time, I have a very flexible schedule," if they give a bunch of excuses, they don't own it.

The Small - Medium Sized Operator:

There is a wide variety of companies in this category, Limotainment is in it! You will typically be talking to the same person on the phone every time, these company's generally have 1-5 vehicles. Some of the services are fantastic, others are an absolute nightmare and the majority fall in the grey area between. Everyone has the ability to get a feeling for the type of person they are talking to after about a minute. If the person sounds shady, confused, unreliable your gut is probably right because you are talking to one of the owners of that company. How the owner sounds is how the company conducts business. When they are on the phone, whether they are a great company or not, they should have the best attitude possible right? They are trying to get you to commit and trust them laying out hundreds if not thousands of dollars! If they don't sound reliable on the phone its probably for the best to avoid that company no matter what their rates are. If the person you are talking to sounds knowledgeable, trustworthy and willing to take your event to the next level you may have found the right company!

Regardless of who you're talking to, always check out the reviews of the company before you commit to them! The last thing you want is for an embarrassing piece of junk with a rude driver showing up late to your door.

Hope this helps!

Tips For Booking a Party Bus For Prom

4/5/2012

It's that time of year! Prom Season! Time for all of the girls to get all dolled up and for the guys to sport their slick suits & tuxedos. A very fun and memorable night for all! Everyone is scrambling to find the perfect dress, where to get their pictures taken, and locking in the perfect party bus, limo or stretch hummer for their groups.  Well, I'm hear to help you out with prom transportation for your big day!

There are many companies that will look to take advantage of high school students trying to book transportation for the dance. Below are tips to make sure you have the upper hand when talking to limo companies and how to book the best vehicle with the best company for Prom!

A couple pointers:

- Call early! The further you call in advance the better chance you will get the date and vehicle you want. Everyone is scrambling to book their party bus in the final 30 days and limo company's will charge more once they see the demand increasing.

- It will be very difficult to find any company to book anything less than 3 hours, especially in prom season.

- A split is a common way of charging a prom or any dance: They will "split" your 3 or 4 hours of transportation between the ride to the prom and the ride after. Example:  For 3 hours you can use 1 hour before to drive to the prom and cruise around for 2 hours after prom, which equals your 3 hours.

- Take a look at the companies reviews on Yelp.com, if they do not have great reviews there is probably a reason for it. (Here is a LINK to Limotainment's, look for something like this)

- Be weary of any companies that say they have a ton of vehicles. A lot of the time they really have only 1 or 2 and the rest are stock photos you will find on a simple Google image search. These companies will book your business, take a cut of the cash and then place your event with a random company. You will not know the reputation of this company and the vehicle that rolls up to your door will not be the same one you saw in the pictures 90% of the time. A good way of testing this is to ask to see the vehicle in person. Say "My schedule is completely flexible the next few weeks; when can come and see the vehicle in person?" If they say you can't see it or come up with excuses... they don't own it!

- Also, when solidifying a booking with a company it may be best to put a parent on the line, not that you can't do it yourself but it will help ensure there is less of a chance of any shadiness from the company.

Please reach out to me with any questions you may have and good luck with your search! Hopefully  Limotainment be a part of your next school dance!
